What do you love the most about working for Adventist HealthCare?
Dennis Reed, CRA, RT (R)(CT): My name is Dennis Reed and I serve as the Administrative Director for Diagnostic Imaging and Cardiovascular Services here at Shady Grove. And what I love most about working here at Adventist HealthCare is the amazing staff that we work with. Our technologists and our nurses work incredibly well together and provide amazing care to our patients each and every day.
Can you tell us what it is like to work for the Diagnostic Imaging Unit?
Dennis Reed, CRA, RT (R)(CT): Working in diagnostic imaging and cardiovascular services is a very fast paced and interesting work day. As a leading stemi and thrombectomy receiving center, our emergency room is very busy and relies heavily on our imaging services. Whether it's plane film, CT, cath lab or neurointerventional, they rely heavily on our expertise and our availability and services that we provide to them.
What is a day in the life like on this team?
Dennis Reed, CRA, RT (R)(CT): A typical day in the department starts off with huddles where the team gets together. We talk about the schedule, try to coordinate patient care across the different departments and then it's off to do the work of the day. Uh, very rarely does. It actually work out that way because with a busy emergency room and all of the things that come up during the course of the day, we have to shift and the team does a fantastic job of coordinating with each other and changing to meet the needs of our patients.
What is one thing you would like to share to someone who is joining this team?
Dennis Reed, CRA, RT (R)(CT): One of the things that I would like for any imaging professional that's joining our team to know is that you're joining a team that has been nationally recognized and recognized within the state for our cardiac programs, our stroke programs and the care that we provide here. Truly at Shady Grove Medical Center, we are able to provide cutting edge imaging technology in a community hospital setting.
