Speaker: Caitlin and Tim
Introduce yourselves!
Caitlin and Tim: Hi, we are Caitlyn and Tim. My name is Caitlyn. We live in Cleveland, Ohio and for work, I work for a advertising agency as a client partnership director. I also teach group fitness classes on the weekends. I'm Tim. I am a sales executive at an AI company. and I am also the CFO legal aid administrator of the soon-to-be open business that my wife is opening. I am opening a fitness studio, hopefully in the next couple of months. that'll be a good safe space for women to come together and, exercise and be well.
When thinking about the future, what type of relationship do you hope to have with your child's birth family?
Caitlin and Tim: And thinking about the future, we hope to have a most open as possible relationship with our child's birth family. We both think it's really important for the child to feel loved and safe, by any and all people that want to love them. And I think that having an open relationship with the child's birth family, if that's something that is mutual and wanted is the best way to do that. So that the, the child has as many people as possible in their corner and an advocate for them throughout their life. And it helps that they feel like a strong cultural and authentic connection to as many people as they can. We're open to any sort of arrangement and we're excited to meet love on new people.
What one word describes your family best? Why?
Caitlin and Tim: One word that describes Kaitlyn and I, and our vision for the future is growth. We're growing together, we're growing ourselves, we're growing our family. we're growing a a child. We believe very deeply in continuing to learn and to get better, to not stay static, to continuously get better at the things that we're already good at and to improve on the things that maybe we're not so good at. Yeah, I think growth is a good word for us as we constantly are in communication with each other and with others to ensure that we are growing in the right ways and we're, we're learning new things constantly and I hope that that's something that we can share with a child in and any birth family that we are with.
What makes your family stand out?
Caitlin and Tim: One of the really neat things about Kaitlyn and I is our ability to extend our family beyond the one that was assigned to us at, at birth. We do have very strong, close-knit familial bonds with our parents, with our siblings, our niece and nephew, our cousins, and even our grandparents, but we've also extended that to our friends from college, whether it's Caitlyn sorority sisters or my wrestling teammates, and even after college. Whether it's our professional relationships or the wrestlers that I coached, or the students that, that Caitlyn instructed in some of her fitness classes. We do a really good job and are very conscious about traveling to see them be part of their lives, be part of their major events, graduations, weddings, births. So I think it's really unique that we've been able to get close to my family here in Cleveland. But it hasn't stopped us from being close to our family across the rest of the US.
