Sylvie Woodmansey: Hi, my name is Sylvie, and I started this training program with advanced e-clinical training because I really want to become a physician assistant when I'm older, and this seemed like a great pathway to getting patient care experience, and I just loved the flexibility of this program.
Describe your overall experience completing the ACT program. What stood out to you the most?
Sylvie Woodmansey: My experience with ACT was so positive. I loved the discussion posts, the simulations, which made me feel like I actually knew what I was doing. I really appreciated how informational and detailed the coursework was, and I do feel like I got a great understanding of the material just because of the quizzes and checkpoints all the way through.
Sylvie Woodmansey: The interactives were so important to me as someone who's not only a visual learner, but I also like to do things with audio or hands-on, and so the simulations were a great practice of this, as well as the venna puncture kit was great hands-on experience and overall the different assignments and simulations were very well rounded for all different types of learners, which helped me better understand the content.
In what ways did ACT make you feel supported, even though the program was online?
Sylvie Woodmansey: ACT made me feel supported even though it was online. One way was through the discussion post. I really appreciated the classmate feedback and it made me feel like I was part of a classroom experience, as well as the quick email response time from my instructors. If I ever had a question, they responded within 10 minutes, and this made me feel very validated and helped out, on the ACT program.
What advice would you give to someone who is considering enrolling in an ACT program?
Sylvie Woodmansey: Advice I would give someone who is enrolling in the ACT program would to definitely stick with it. I recommend just doing little by little each day, and you feel so accomplished when you finally finish a module. Stay interacted. Don't be scared to ask your instructors if you have any questions, and take notes along the way so you don't just have to cram before the exam.
