Speaker: Remington Lane Cook
How would you describe your overall experience with Advanced eClinical Training (ACT)?
Remington Lane Cook: My overall experience with the program was really amazing. I love how flexible it was. I was able to do all the assignments on my own time. The instructors were incredibly supportive. They always on every single assignment would say, like, if you need help, reach out, if you need help, reach out, email, text, call, and it really just gives you a safe space to be learning, and I also really liked the simulations because they were super engaging as well.
Remington Lane Cook: The interactive activities such as the quizzes and the clinical simulations, really, really benefited me in terms of learning because for the simulations, I was thinking on the spot in the scenarios, as if I was in that clinical setting in the office, which really helped me to put myself in their shoes and to just think through it as a medical assistant would. And the quizzes as well were really good to just challenge my thinking
How did ACT make you feel supported throughout the program, even in a fully online format?
Remington Lane Cook: I always felt supported throughout this program because I have mentioned it before, but they are incredibly supportive. They put on every single assignment. If you have any questions, if you need any help, support, reach out, which is really nice with an online course, it's very necessary, um, but also I
What advice would you give to someone who is considering enrolling in an ACT program?
Remington Lane Cook: Some advice I would give someone who's considering enrolling in this program is to just go ahead and do it. If you are looking into a health care healthcare career, this is the perfect stepping stone to do it and just get your toes in the water and become certified in something, and it can only benefit you in the future. And in terms of this specific course, I think it is incredible the way that they outline it, it's all online, it's all asynchronous on your own um pace, your own schedule. And it is very interactive. The instructors always leave comments on your assignments. If something's rejected, why is it rejected? How you can improve, what you need to be doing for the final exam, for example, they will send you um a way to remediate and meet with an instructor, and they will go over everything that you missed and didn't do as well on, which I think is amazing because it just gives you a chance to improve. And it's just a really good program to truly learn and test your thinking. Sometimes online courses are hard because you're not really truly learning cause you're not engaged, but with this course you have the simulation assignments, you have different discussions, and it really keeps you engaged throughout the course.
