Speaker: Makenna D'Amico, Pre-PA Student

Makenna D'Amico: Hello, my name is McKenna D'Amico. Um, I'm a pre-PA student, uh, looking to get into PA school and with that, I really wanted some hands-on, uh, clinical hours for my patient care experience, um, in order to strengthen my application. So when I found advanced clinical training, it was really, really helpful to be able to have a flexible format to continue while I was also doing my undergraduate program.

How would you describe your overall experience with Advanced eClinical Training (ACT)?

Makenna D'Amico: My experience with advanced eClinical training was truly amazing. Um, it was very, very flexible, which allowed me to work on my course when I needed to, um, and take my time with actually understanding all the content. Um, it was also a very interactive course that allowed me to truly gain insight into performing these clinical duties, uh, specifically, the simulations were very, very helpful.

Makenna D'Amico: The interactive activities in this course truly aided in my learning, um, having all of the quizzes and the simulations and the infographics, they really help me to understand the material more as well as see how this information is implemented in the real clinical setting.

How did ACT make you feel supported throughout the program, even in a fully online format?

Makenna D'Amico: Although this was an online program, advanced the clinical training really, really made this course feel as though it was in person. There is constant support throughout the course, emailed feedback constantly on your assignments after you submit them, and I always knew that if I needed anything, I could reach out and get a fast response.

What advice would you give to someone who is considering enrolling in an ACT program?

Makenna D'Amico: Some advice I would give to someone enrolling in this course would be to really engage and participate with the material, because this is real information we are going to be taking into the clinical setting. And with this, you can always reach out for help if you need it. I would encourage you to do so in order to aid in your learning and really just take in the material and enjoy your time.
