Speaker: Madeline Sayasithsena
Madeline Sayasithsena: Hi, my name is Madeleine Saenna, and I was drawn to advanced the clinical to get my CCMA certification because I eventually want to go to PA school and to do that, you need a lot of PC hours. So I thought getting my medical assistant certification could have been a great first step to getting a job and eventually work part time during undergrad.
How would you describe your overall experience with Advanced eClinical Training (ACT)?
Madeline Sayasithsena: I love the ACT program. I think it was so great having a self-paced fully online program. It allowed me to do the course throughout my spring semester, my junior year, while I was also taking organic chem and other very talented classes. I was able to do everything on my time, which I think allowed me to have a better understanding of the material, and I was always able to go back, review things. And when I took the final exam, I felt very prepared.
How did ACT ensure you felt guided and supported while completing the program online?
Madeline Sayasithsena: Even though ACT's program was online, I never thought that I was alone throughout the entire process. I always knew that I could reach out if I needed help or anytime I send an email, I'll get a quick response, and it would be very detailed and thorough. So I would understand exactly like what I needed help with. And every time I turn in an assignment, they upgraded pretty quickly, I would say within 24 hours, which allowed me to move forward. And especially once I finished up my spring semester, I was really working through my class and The ACT team was keeping up with me, and they were grading things as soon as I was turning them in, which is really nice.
What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling in Advanced eClinical Training (ACT)’s program?
Madeline Sayasithsena: To someone who's considering going into this program, I would highly recommend it. It works around any schedule. I think once you get in the groove of it, you can work through it, and you're actually like learning so much information as you go. Now that I'm sitting here, I think back to when I first enrolled in this course in January with how little I knew about the healthcare setting. I never worked in healthcare before or um had taken any kind of class beforehand. I had maybe a CPR certification a few years ago, but I've learned so much information throughout this course that I didn't even feel like learning. I just felt like I learned it and now I'm like so prepared to go into this job. So I would recommend just dive in head first. Um, if you're like worried about doing an online course or anything like that, I think there's enough supplemental materials that allow you to learn and experiment throughout this course that it really doesn't even feel like an online class sometimes.
