Speaker: Katelyn Thach

Katelyn Thach: Hi, my name is Katie Thatch, and I have always wanted to work in healthcare. I'm aiming to be a PA and being a medical assistant was the perfect way to get there. So when I heard about advanced e-clinical training, I was like, this is the perfect opportunity for me to learn new skills and build my resume to really help me get that medical assistant job, which will then take me to my final part of my career.

Describe your overall experience completing the ACT program. What stood out to you the most?

Katelyn Thach: I had a great experience with ACT, and I think what stood out to me the most was the clinical simulations where we could apply what we were learning through the modules into actual scenarios, and this made it feel a lot more real and and helping how we understand how everything works.

How did the interactive activities (like quizzes, infographics, and clinical challenges) impact your learning?

Katelyn Thach: The interactive activities actually helped me a lot because it helped me apply what I was learning into situations. So I wasn't just reading about all this information, but I was able to actually process through it.

In what ways did ACT make you feel supported, even though the program was online?

Katelyn Thach: ACT very much feels personal because there are so many people that are there to help you when you need it, and the instructors take their time to make sure they know you as a student, and will give you everything that you need whenever you need it.

What advice would you give to someone who is considering enrolling in an ACT program?

Katelyn Thach: If you are thinking about doing it and you really want to invest in your future and your career, I highly recommend that you join this program. It has done so much in helping me feel prepared, and it'll definitely help with my career and my resume and getting that PA spot later on.
