Speaker: Emily

Emily: Hello, my name is Emily Pluff, and I've always wanted to work in the healthcare field, but I wasn't sure how to start while finishing my bachelor's degree at the same time. I was so excited to find advanced clinical training, and they gave me a great opportunity to be exposed to the healthcare career path at my own pace without having to put a stop to my education.

Describe your overall experience completing the ACT program. What stood out to you the most?

Emily: I had a really great experience finishing the ACT program. I really enjoyed the patient simulations as they gave me insight into how clinical scenarios would play out in the real world. And as someone who loves being prepared, I really appreciated those activities.

How did the interactive activities impact your learning?

Emily: The interactive scenarios helped reinforce information and lessons that were previously taught. Being able to make decisions and even speaking with the patients through the simulation made it feel more realistic and helped me apply the knowledge I had gained thus far.

In what ways did ACT make you feel supported, even though the program was online?

Emily: Even though I was online, having the instructors respond very quickly and give feedback on assignments gave it a personal touch. I felt I could reach out very easily and get an answer very quickly. Having discussion posts with other students was another great way that made the program feel more personal and integrated rather than isolated.

What advice would you give to someone who is considering enrolling in an ACT program?

Emily: If I were to give someone advice, it would be to take notes on the information you don't know and go at a pace that feels comfortable to you.
