Speaker: Emily Bronsted
How would you describe your overall experience with Advanced eClinical Training (ACT)?
Emily Bronsted: My experience with ACT was amazing. They had every single type of learning way that you can learn. They had simulations, they had discussion posts, reading, videos, PowerPoints, like literally everything. Um, what helped me the most was definitely the simulations and being able to actually work in the National Health Career Association, um. And I was able to do simulations and really apply my knowledge to a real medical setting.
In what ways did ACT make you feel supported, even though the program was online?
Emily Bronsted: ACT made me feel really supported with the really um quick and timely mannered feedback that I would get um if I had a question, they normally email me back really fast. And doing the discussion post did make me feel like I wasn't alone. Being online it can feel really isolating, but being able to respond to other people and discussion posts and get feedback from instructors fast made it feel like It was a community and like I wasn't learning alone.
What advice would you give to someone who is considering enrolling in an ACT program?
Emily Bronsted: Some advice I would give to somebody that's looking into enrolling in the ACT program is to do it. I would definitely recommend to all my friends. I think ACT gave me such a good foundation for everything medical. Like there were so many things that I didn't know or didn't like put together, and it really helped to bring all that knowledge together and tie everything together and gave me a really good foundation for um everything that I need to know. But I would say to definitely be prepared to participate because there are lots of simulations and Discussion posts and quizzes and activities, but all of those help you really lock in the information in your head. So I would definitely say do it, and you can also do it when you have another thing on the side, like I was a nanny and also a full-time student and was still being able to work on it and learn. So I definitely recommend.
