Charlotte Haacke-Golden: Hi, my name is Charlie Haggy Golden, and I really wanted a program which I can improve on my healthcare skills and get a job as a medical assistant while still getting an undergraduate degree in biology, so I can work up to being a pre-med and medical student. So this program really allowed me that flexibility and I felt really prepared for what's next.
Describe your overall experience completing the ACT program. What stood out to you the most?
Charlotte Haacke-Golden: What stood out to me the most was the simulations as well as the discussion board. It felt like I was a part of a team while also making independent decisions, and in the simulations, it really gave me direct feedback on every single thing to make sure that I was doing what was right and when I go to the actual healthcare setting.
How did the interactive activities (like quizzes, infographics, and clinical challenges) impact your learning?
Charlotte Haacke-Golden: The quizzes and interactive activities were really well paced, and they gave me feedback constantly on what I can do better, what I'm, what I know, so I can review things before the exam as well as as I'm doing the program, so that I can build on the skills rather than there being a gap in my knowledge. So it did a great job of doing that.
In what ways did ACT make you feel supported, even though the program was online?
Charlotte Haacke-Golden: In the discussion boards as well as the constant feedback on after I completed an assignment, really made me feel like I was supported and that I had a community that I was doing with, even though I couldn't always see their faces or who or know like who's doing it with me. I could tell if somebody responded to my discussion board that, oh, I'm with a group of people, and that made me feel really included and that I could rely on those people if I needed.
