Camille Fry: Neil Fry and I decided to pursue training with Advanced Ec Clinical because I am interested in the healthcare field and hopefully going to PA school and I needed to clinical hours, but I didn't feel like I really had the hands-on skills for that. And so I decided to pursue medical assistant certification, and this one came really highly rated with a lot of good opportunities like externships and stuff.
Describe your overall experience completing the ACT program. What stood out to you the most?
Camille Fry: I had a really good experience with ACT and they were very like willing to work with me in my timeline and what I most needed, and the clinical trainings really stood out to me along with like all of the questions in the simulations for the NHA simulator cause I feel like that really helped me feel like I was getting clinical experience, even though I was having to do the course online, which worked really well with my availability and so it was a lot of flexibility.
How did the interactive activities impact your learning?
Camille Fry: Interactive Quiz activities like the quizzes and infographics and things really helps keep me accountable and make sure that I was like really learning how to perform these things and not just kind of like, going about it, not really like getting it integrated into my brain and so it really helped me like to make sure that I was actually solidifying the information so I would actually be able to do it in the real setting.
In what ways did ACT make you feel supported?
Camille Fry: ACT made me feel really supported. They were very responsive. They always met the 24 hour deadline that they promised, and most of the like other numbers that you could contact if you had just like general questions that weren't about coursework, but about like the course itself, like timelines and things like that, they responded usually within 2 hours very diligently, and they always like kept track of the things I'd asked before. So they clearly had like records of what I was doing, and like, it felt like they really cared about me and actually like helping me, and they actually sent messages about what I'd learned.
What advice would you give to someone who is considering enrolling in an ACT program?
Camille Fry: Advice I would give is definitely sign up. I think also like make sure that you're like really taking the time to like learn the content and not just trying to like get through the videos and things because it really does like walk you through exactly what you would need to do in a setting. And I think taking advantage of that's really helpful. I'd also recommend taking notes throughout, like in whatever way, like making your own study guide as you're going. I wish I'd done that, but now I feel all that would be really, really helpful.
