Speaker: Amaya Adams
Amaya Adams: My experience with ACT was very, very good. Um, something that stood out to me was how the curriculum included phlebotomy. I noticed that a lot of like online medical assistant programs don't really include phlebotomy, and honestly, not a lot of in-person ones, but I really liked how it was a whole section and how it was really, really emphasized because that is part of being a medical assistant.
In what ways did ACT make you feel supported, even though the program was online?
Amaya Adams: So even though ACT is completely online, I felt like um it wasn't very like isolating. I really liked how I could see it in real time, honestly, my peers' responses to activities, and there's so many people taking this course with you that You can, it, it feels like a community. Um, I also really appreciated how my professors would respond to me in such a timely manner. I remember emailing once on Christmas Eve and getting response the next day. That's, you know, like, I'm very lucky to have that.
What advice would you give to someone who is considering enrolling in an ACT program?
Amaya Adams: If you're thinking about enrolling in an ACT program, I would tell you that, um, although it's online, it really does prepare you for the clinical aspect, especially with all the interactive activities. Um, I honestly was hesitant about joining because it was online and I was doing so many other activities and uh educational, um, like adventures, like getting a bachelor's degree. But, um, I think that the self-paced um course is perfect for someone who's in school or maybe working or making a career switch. ACT was probably one of the best things uh I've done this year, so thank you.
