Why did you choose ACI Learning Tech Academy?
Amir Hooper: Hi, this is Amir Hooper. I chose ACI Learning Tech Academy for the hands on in classroom experience. I learn better in-person face to face with top quality professors ACI provides as well as the multiple certifications all in one course, very good resources, very good professors, very good environment, very conducive to learning and getting my foot in the door in tech.
What program did you complete, and how was your experience training at ACI Learning?
Amir Hooper: I chose the Computer User Support Specialist program at ACI, I think it was very useful just to get a better foundation and a good basic understanding of cybersecurity in the tech world. I needed a little bit more understanding and fundamentals and the Computer User Support Specialist is very entry-level. But it helped me really, hone in on some things I knew some things I didn't know and it was very beneficial for somebody just starting out, in my opinion.
Could you tell us a little bit about your current IT role and how life is after training?
Amir Hooper: So my current role right now is a Dell employee on the campus of USA. My job title is field service technician. It's an entry-level role kind of puts my foot in the door. We're learning ticketing systems, end of life, beginning of life to the end of life, the complete life cycle of devices for our customer USA. We're helping set up work from home devices as well as in office devices. So pretty much the you know the beginning and the end of our customers IT experience so anything related to their desktops, laptops, monitors routers, computers, anything like that for our customer USA, we take care of from the beginning to the end. So we kind of see the complete life cycle of these devices and just make sure everything is taken care of. Life after ACI has been pretty good. I've been given a lot of opportunities I'm blessed by. It has opened many doors as well as networking. So I'm really grateful for ACI for this opportunity to land such a good quality job. So fast after completion of the course.
If you could say one thing to the staff at Tech Academy, what would it be?
Amir Hooper: If I could say one thing to the Tech Academy staff, I would say that they are doing a great job. I couldn't be where I am without them today. Very helpful and they are great people.
