Introduce yourself! What is your role and how long have you been with ACI Learning?

Rodderick Fedd: Hi, my name is Rodderick Fedd, I am a Technical Instructor and I've been here for 5 years.

Tell us about your professional journey.

Rodderick Fedd: My technical journey began in 2004. I've worked for companies like Geek Squad at Best Buy, I've also worked for DeKalb County Community Service Board, I worked at Lockheed Martin, I worked for AT&T. Before coming to ACI, I was at ElringKlinger. So that's just a little bit about my path in IT. I've had IT administrator, system administrator roles across these different companies as well.

What is your favorite thing about the IT industry?

Rodderick Fedd: What I love about the IT industry is you have to stay sharp. I like being sharp, right? Mentally. I like to know what I'm talking about, and this is a field that you always have to stay ready for the different challenges and you have to stay educated and I enjoy educating myself.

What has been the most valuable lesson you have learned from your education?

Rodderick Fedd: One of the most valuable lessons that I've learned is that there's always someone smarter than you. Always listen. Stay vigilant, stay open minded so that you can continue to learn and grow and become the better you that you would like to be.

What's something you want students to know about you?

Rodderick Fedd: Students should know that I'm dedicated to the cause to making sure that you're educated the way that you need to be in order to get these certifications. Stay passionate, I'll bring the technical expertise and we can meet in the middle and we can get everything done that you want to get done in this period in time that you're spending in my classroom.

What advice would you give to students starting out in the IT industry?

Rodderick Fedd: This is a fun journey, it's exciting. There's a lot of information to learn, so don't be discouraged because you're learning so much new information, alright. Take it in as much as you can, ok? Study hard and the reward is waiting around the corner.
