Speaker: Tim Fenech, Mine worker, Queensland

Please tell us who you are and what you do.

Tim Fenech: Hey guys, my name is Timothy. I'm based out of Townsville. I'm 43 years old. I'm married to my wife, PJ.

Tim Fenech: We're a middle-aged couple. Been married about 10 years now. I work in the mines, my wife works as an accountant.

Tim Fenech: Stage of life is we're just settling down now, just wanting to save our money and get a bit more super behind us, and this is why we wanted something different than just your normal super funds, which really weren't working for us. So we came across Access Wealth and yeah, this is the start of our journey.

Before working with Access Wealth, how would you describe your overall financial situation at the time?

Tim Fenech: Before working with Access Wealth, we just bought our first house to live in, in Townsville, as I work as a fly-in fly-out miner. My friend privileged had a super investment house like this, so I thought I'll join suit and follow him.

Tim Fenech: But we were just unsure about what our future had to hold and we wanted to, something better than just super for our kids, maybe a house that they can move into maybe one day when we retire, or they wanna sell it. So we just want something for them to

Tim Fenech: have, and something for us to have, if may need be.

Tim Fenech: Yeah, we're moving ahead a bit by bit, but not enough to buy a second house through cash. We had to be through our super and this is what we did, and so we worked with Access Wealth.

At that stage, what challenges were getting in the way of you actually making financial progress?

Tim Fenech: The challenges for us financially get ahead is that we had money to spend, so we sort of went on a bit of a spending spree, instead of investing in it like we should have.

Tim Fenech: We sort of knew the options, we just sort of discovered after buying our first house what we could do and what we couldn't do, so we weren't really second guessing everything once we sort of decided what we wanted to do and that's what, that's exactly what happened. We, just seeing our friend go through what he did and he explained everything, so that was a bit of a helping hand. It was good.

Before speaking with Access Wealth, what concerns or doubts did you have about property investing?

Tim Fenech: Before speaking with Access, my concern specifically was damage to the houses, if we were gonna get a good return on the house later on if we did wanna sell it when we were retiring, how much rent we're gonna get for it, how much money we had to put into it. them types of questions that I was asking myself, and ask my wife as well.

Tim Fenech: We're just making sure that we're doing everything correctly. For each other. For our future.

Did you have any hesitations about working with Access Wealth before starting?

Tim Fenech: Wasn't many hesitations. Once we start talking to Access, everyone was pretty cool about everything, everything was straightforward.

Tim Fenech: I didn't have any doubts, I just wanted to do it, because I knew it was gonna be better than our super. Especially the way at that stage that Victoria was going. Things are spreading real quick down there.

Tim Fenech: I was doing something, I was being proactive with my future, that's what I wanted.

If anything was holding you back at first, made you decide to move forward with Access Wealth?

Tim Fenech: By this stage I was really interested, I was really happy. I was enjoying everything that I was seeing. My wife was happy with everything too.

Tim Fenech: Yeah, everything was looking up for us at this stage. Everything was, falling into place where we wanted, what we wanted to do. The team there were, were good. They pretty much guided us through everything, um, if we had questions, they were too happy to ask.

Tim Fenech: By that stage we weren't hesitating, we just wanted to do it, wanted to do it. We were happy with everything.

What was your experience like working with your strategist and the team throughout the property journey?

Tim Fenech: When we come on board by that stage, we were, we were ready to do everything, everything was explained pretty much to our liking. My wife was happy, I was happy. The support from our strategist, John, he was was pretty cool. Always happy. Even when you weren't happy, he always made you happy, he was heaps cool.

Tim Fenech: He took his time with us at the start to you know, promote everything.

Tim Fenech: The end of the

Tim Fenech: process was, it was good.

Since working with Access Wealth, what progress have you seen?

Tim Fenech:

Tim Fenech: They helped us get where we are now. And connect to the bank that we're with now, so that actually was really good, actually it worked out well. Property purchases, yeah, it was good.

Tim Fenech: Finances we're confident in. Always have been. But just behind the super structure money, that has actually helped me feel a bit more relaxed, I think it's might have helped my wife feel a bit more relaxed that we've got something there. And just the models that they showed us throughout, we sort of can picture it, we've still got videos and stuff of it, but alright, this is where we need to be, this is where our structure is, this is in 10 years, this is in whatever. We've got clearer direction where we want to be now. What we can and what we can't do.

How would you describe your confidence now compared to before you started working with Access Wealth?

Tim Fenech: Since working with Access Wealth, we've been a bit more confident. In the financial positions and what's required behind buying a house and. the clarity behind what your intentions are for the future instead of just going, oh yeah, we're just gonna buy this. But they give you something there to look at and follow. Lets you feel a bit more under control of where you're heading.

Tim Fenech: It's just been all round, all round good so far.

What would you say to someone sitting on the fence about property investing with Access Wealth?

Tim Fenech: I've seen heaps of people so far, trying to get them involved with Access Wealth, I think it's a great idea. Well, why wouldn't you want to set your future up? Double your money in property, because property's going up, super won't go up as much as what property will. Told them about my experiences working with John. And how easy it was, that how the way it seems that it was just too easy sometimes because it was just paperwork pretty much. Done, phone calls made, everything was working well.

Tim Fenech: They get on top of everything straight away, so you don't have to, they get back to you straight away.
