Please tell us who you are and what you do.
Robert Darcy: Hi, I'm Rob. I'm Alison. We are currently based an hour and a half from Canberra. We are both currently working in real estate ourselves, and yeah, decided to get on board with Access Wealth after our getting married last year and just wanting to plan for the future.
Before working with Access Wealth, how would you describe your overall financial situation at the time?
Robert Darcy: Before working with Access Wealth, we were in a pretty good financial position. I hadn't really given too much thought to the future or what plans we needed to put in place. Yeah, it was very much, very much that, but before we'd even got married, I sort of started exploring things. It was good, yeah, once we got married we'll like definitely get on the track to sort of selves up, for the long-term, for retirement. Sort of had done a lot of research but never really knew what to do. Got a bit overwhelmed with all the information you can find out there. With the team at Access Wealth was great from our first meeting to the acquisition. Just talking us through sort of a bit of a life plan and where we need to get to to achieve our goals.
At that stage, what challenges were getting in the way of you actually making financial progress?
Robert Darcy: At the stage of reaching out to the team, we definitely were facing a few challenges. Definitely information overload from, the amount of research you can get knuckled down into, not having a clear plan, and not really trusting whether I'd make the right decision or we'd make the right decision. So very good to get a clear path and get our hands held the whole way through.
Before speaking with Access Wealth, what concerns or doubts did you have about property investing?
Robert Darcy: Before speaking to Access Wealth, we didn't really think that property investing was something that we could do. I always looked at it as something that people had already built their wealth, got into, so I had no idea where to start, and didn't really think it was on the horizon for us. And obviously we both work in the real estate industry, so we do see daily people who get in over their heads, make bad choices, so that was quite daunting.
Did you have any hesitations about working with Access Wealth before starting?
Robert Darcy: So did we have any hesitations or concerns about working with Access Wealth. Yeah, obviously it was very daunting to start off with, not knowing process, hoping that things would be delivered on that they were talking about, and lucky for us, everything's worked out really well. I think the team has it down pat, but yeah, everything was mitigated throughout. It's great.
If anything was holding you back at first, what made you decide to move forward with Access Wealth?
Robert Darcy: We did have some initial hesitations. I think sometimes if it's too good to be true, it probably is, but the team was very open with us. They gave us lots of clarity on our current financial position. They didn't really sugarcoat anything which was nice. And yeah, they're always available to meet with us, on Zoom meetings, they'd follow up the next day with phone calls just to check in that we're still feeling OK, we're confident. Their written communication was great, so it was just very nice personal touches that really make you feel like you can trust the team. And the done for you approach, like us being very time poor, allowing them, and their team just to take the reins, and get everything sorted, really made it seamless for us, otherwise we probably wouldn't have started.
What was your experience like working with your strategist and the team throughout the property journey?
Robert Darcy: Once we decided to come on board and use Access Wealth, experience was great. It was very smooth, they knew what they were doing, everything was explained really well, and yeah, we never felt pressured into anything. Again, just having a clear plan for these guys set out, was really good.
Since working with Access Wealth, what progress have you seen?
Robert Darcy: Since working with Access Wealth, we have now, purchased a property, which is fantastic. It's given us clearer direction, definitely progress a lot further towards our goals for later on in life, so yeah, we are definitely more confident that we are gonna be set up down the track.
How would you describe your confidence now compared to before you started working with Access Wealth?
Robert Darcy: Our level of confidence before working with the team was pretty low. We just didn't have enough time, with what we do to, you know, nut everything out properly and make a game plan for ourselves. After getting on board with the team, clarity and confidence is basically 100%. We're just gotta make sure we do the paperwork on our end, in a timely manner, and yeah, the future looks bright.
What would you say to someone sitting on the fence about property investing with Access Wealth?
Robert Darcy: If I was speaking to someone who wasn't sure if they should get into property investing or working with Access Wealth, I would definitely say they do it or at least have that initial conversation. I had a she'll be right approach to our finances and our future. Probably wasn't going to be right if I continued down that path, but yeah, definitely have it all laid out in front of you. Just speak to the team, it definitely is eye-opening and yeah, just having that clear path set out for us now. We know what we want with our future and how to get there.
