Tell us a little about yourself and your background.

Katelynn Pucci: Hi, I'm Caitlin. My journey to becoming a therapist started at a young age. Um, my sister was diagnosed with a chronic illness pretty young, and so we were in and out of the hospital. I was there. Um, and the support that she received from staff and therapists and activity therapists, um, was so inspiring, um, that I became one myself. Um, so I graduated with my master's in creative arts therapy back in 2017. Um, and I've been working in the field since. I've worked with various, um, populations from developmental disabilities to, um, anxiety, depression, trauma. Um, I've also worked in an inpatient setting, um, working with active and retired duty, military, um, and, you know, the specialty of that, um. I really enjoy creating a space where my clients feel empowered and comfortable, um, in kind of tackling their challenges, um, whether that be mental health or more transitional life situations that come up, um, and I'm excited to stand beside you along your journey.

What kinds of challenges do you specialize in helping people with?

Katelynn Pucci: I primarily work with individuals experiencing anxiety, PTSD, depression, and life transitions. So this encompasses a wide range of challenges that I think each of us as an individual faces pretty, um, consistently throughout life. Um, I try to help my clients feel, um, Kind of more in control by um focusing on what they can control and finding a sense of balance within their daily lives and their ability to cope with their symptoms, um, with stress, and sometimes just what comes along with being a human.

How would you describe your style or approach to therapy?

Katelynn Pucci: So my style is person centered, as well as strengths-based. Um, so I like to do working with clients, is really get to know them, allow them to navigate our session and inevitably our treatment together. This is their time to feel. See, heard, understood. So I really try to create a space that allows them to do so, um, that also focuses, like I said, on their strengths, um, what they are good at, what they do deem as, um, you know, important parts, um, characteristics of themselves. Um, and I also include a lot of DBT or dialectical behavioral therapy that um can help clients. You know, sustain and maintain um healthy relationships within their life, both intrapersonal with yourself and interpersonal with other people, um, a sense of mindfulness and presence in, you know, our daily lives, coping, all of those good things, um, and an ability to um navigate difficult situations.

What do you hope to achieve with your clients in therapy?

Katelynn Pucci: My goal as a therapist is definitely to encourage my clients and strengthen their ability to see themselves in a positive light and feel empowered by their ability to make choices, um, to navigate life, and to just be who they are. I'd love to be able to help you gain a deeper sense of self, um, be able to kind of challenge your perspectives at times when you think that. You know, old patterns may not be servicing you, um, like they once did. And so with that, um, you know, cultivating again, rapport, a comfortable, safe, non-judgmental environment, um, and the space for you to explore yourself.
