Rafael Sierra, MD FAAOS: Hello, my name is Rafael Sierra. I'm the Program Chair for the AAOS 2024 meeting in San Francisco. I'm looking forward to seeing you very soon.
Rafael Sierra, MD FAAOS: I'd like to take the moment to introduce you to a wonderful new format for our paper sessions. The typical old paper session that you're used to with a number of papers followed by a discussion will be replaced by an innovative format, reimagined paper session. The sessions are called VIPER. V-I-P-E-R. standing for Video, Paper, Education and Research. This will take over the old format of paper sessions.
Rafael Sierra, MD FAAOS: The format for these paper sessions is as follows: We'll start with a four minute block of papers. This will be followed by a video which is presented by the moderator and then a discussion that involves the papers and the video. That will be followed by another similar block and another similar block until the paper session is over. This will provide engagement to the audience. It will provide the audience with useful tips and recommendations so that they can apply them immediately when they return in practice.
Rafael Sierra, MD FAAOS: I really look forward to seeing you in San Francisco in February. Look for the name VIPER right before the name of your paper session. This will allow you to participate in this innovative educational format that the Academy has put together for you.
