AAOS Annual Meeting is one of the biggest meetings that there is for orthopaedics. It's a great opportunity to learn. You have minds from all over the country, really all over the world here. It's the opportunity to speak to the experts. They're all open. You can ask some questions after a session. Not only do you have people from different specialties, but also just the breadth of diversity in terms of international people that are here. I like seeing more women presenters. I like seeing women on the podium. Sometimes we want to go look at trauma or basic science stuff that I really don't get any exposure to in practice necessarily, but I do want to learn more about it. So that's kind of what's fun about this meeting. The Academy from morning to evening is jam-packed full of activities. I'd encourage you to participate in symposia that are relevant to your specialty. I came to the Annual Meeting because of the really high quality ICLs, and that's always a big attraction every year. They do great poster presentations, they do great paper talks. I love to get new ideas from those papers and be able to network with those speakers as well. Coming here is such a great opportunity not only to meet other people, but to learn about the ways the field is changing, especially when we're going to be entering at a time where things like technology is kind of on the forefront. In addition to all the educational opportunities that are available to us through the symposia, there are a ton of educational opportunities that our industry partners have put on for us in the Exhibit Hall as well: Lunch and Learns, Ask an Expert, OrthoDome. I encourage everybody not just to see the Exhibit Hall as a way to interact with industry, but it's a way to amplify the educational experience of the Academy. One of the best things about coming to the Annual Meeting is seeing the latest research and taking that back so that I can better care for those patients that I serve. Medicine is always changing, orthopaedics is always changing, and so if you don't come to the meetings, you're going to be left behind, you're going to be practicing old orthopaedics. There's no better place than AAOS. This is where you want to be.
