Maria K.: I felt very relieved after I was able to have my loans forgiven. I feel like that was, um, a burden that was heavy on my shoulders for many, many years. And when it happened, I actually didn't believe it and made them send me a confirmation, um, right away so that I knew that it was over.
What would you tell a friend or colleague who is thinking about pursuing this benefit?
Maria K.: I have told friends and colleagues about my experience with having loan forgiveness. Um And I would tell everybody, you should definitely do this. I like why would you not? My uh payments ended up being cheaper after I was enrolled in the program. Um and they guided me through it and I didn't have to do anything on my own. All I had to do was follow the prompts and submit what was asked of me. Um And it was pretty easy and worth the expense. There was a an expense at the beginning. Um And then after that, it was very minimal that I didn't have to keep paying um to have somebody reach out and guide me through it. But of course I did that because I did not want to mess things up or do it on my own. And it was really nice to know somebody else was guiding and taking care of telling me what to do.
