Speaker: Ben Martin, Practice Director, Cloud Accounting
Describe your journey here in one word.
Ben Martin: If I have to use one word, then meaningful. I've been a tin soldier all through my career. Always working within the confines of the age-old process that work is. Dotting my I's crossing my ts, just another cog in the wheel and no matter how hard I tried, it just wasn't fulfilling. But at continuous scale, I can see the company grow with every stride that I take. I know that I'm valued and that is meaningful.
How did you find your way to your current role at Continuous Scale?
Ben Martin: What I like about my role in Continuous Scale is that I wasn't hired for the role, the role was creative for me. And I know it sounds cliche, but over the years, my role has evolved into what it is now, you know, unlike all the other companies that I worked for before, where I had to wait for my turn, to climb the corporate ladder. At CS, I was given the freedom to explore and excel in whatever I enjoyed doing.
How has your career impacted your personal life in unexpected ways?
Ben Martin: The silent truth about success at work is that often your personal life takes a back seat. And I used to believe that my job was just a means to an end or, you know, and many times work took priority over my personal life. But it's completely different here at CS. Continuous Scale has surprisingly enhanced my life in ways that I never imagined. The stability. The success in my career has allowed me to cherish the small things in life. And, you know, CS is truly a blessing to me and my family. And I can't thank Sara enough for everything that she does for us.
How has your journey at Continuous Scale evolved?
Ben Martin: What began as a small project has evolved into a rewarding journey filled with growth. When I first joined CS, I was eager to contribute and learn. But I didn't fully anticipate the the breadth of the opportunities and the challenges that we had. Um Over the years, I've been fortunate enough to take on various roles that have broadened my expertise and deepened my understanding of several industries. Um Each client has offered a new opportunity for learning and a chance to work with inspiring people who taught me so much and CS's commitment to professional development and its supportive culture has, it's not only enable me to advance in my career but has instilled this deep sense of loyalty and satisfaction. Um this journey has just been way more of a professional growth. It's, it's transformative.
What advice would you give someone looking to make a meaningful impact here?
Ben Martin: Three things. Be yourself, speak up, and be open minded. At CS, you don't have to be anyone else. You, you realize very quickly that your opinions matter here and more importantly, just be a sponge. You'll end up learning 10 times more than you ever have, and Continuous Scale will change the way you think and work.
