Dan Scott: Hi everybody. I'm Dan Scott and I'm the chair of the CompTIA Community UK and Ireland Executive Council.
Dan Scott: For the 2024 CompTIA Community giving program. The UK and Ireland Executive Council and members decided that Centre point would be our nominated charity of the year.
Dan Scott: We chose Centrepoint as a community to represent as our charity of the year because one young person faces homelessness every four minutes. And we as a community believe that one young person facing homelessness is too many.
Lucy from Centrepoint: My name is Lucy and I work for Centrepoint. Centrepoint is the UK's leading youth homelessness charity, supporting 16 to 25 year olds alongside our partners. We support almost 14,000 young people every year and we campaign to end youth homelessness by 2037.
Lucy from Centrepoint: Your donation will be spent in all sorts of areas across Centrepoint. For example, it could go towards our psychotherapists running our mental health support sessions or our bursary scheme that over 660 young people accessed last year for help with travel, course fees, uniform and laptops. It could go towards our national helpline that over 5000 young people use each year or it could support our campaigning that works to influence both national and local government policies that affect homeless young people.
