Speaker: Betsy Butler, Course Designer and Writer

What do you hope teachers will take away from this course?

Betsy Butler: Hi, I'm Betsy and I'm the course designer for course 5102, which is Anxiety Awareness. This was such a great course to write because I feel that there's a high need for teachers, educators of all sort, any really, any person who works with kids to understand the way that anxiety works, the brain research behind it and then specific strategies of how to help students in the moment or in, in kind of a regular pattern of assisting when they are in the middle of a bout of anxiety. Or if they experience that on a daily basis in the classroom. I think teachers will get a sense of strategies. They'll get a good idea of the research behind anxiety and they'll be able to see some real life examples in action.

What do you love about this course?

Betsy Butler: One of the things I love about this course is the ability to use really polished footage from a documentary called Angst. And the documentary was produced by a group called Impactful. Um they have great mental health uh documentaries that focus on students and it's just a, a great way to get the information uh to you by showing you real life examples. Um testimonies from students, testimonies from research and brain scientists, all of those things are just so essential at making this course come to life. And I think that's something you're really going to appreciate about this course.
