Speaker: Crystal Connelly, 800hr IAYT Yoga Therapy Graduate

Please describe your experience in 800hr IAYT Training with Sarahjoy in three words or sentences.

Hi, I'm Crystal Connelly. I'm a graduate of the 800 hour program. I am really grateful to have been able to take the 800 hour program. I live in Seattle, Washington. And because this program that Sarahjoy offers is online, I have access to her trainings and this teaching and my experience of the program really has been life changing. The way the program is developed offers this really unique way of being able to learn, you know, really incredible deep learning around yoga therapy, but it also offers this way of embodying and integrating the lessons, the content. And it's in the support of really beautiful community that is so interested in growth and healing in themselves and also in order to rather help support clients and students in a fuller, more holistic way. I would say in a few words what what my experience of the program would be, or was rather, would be community connection and support. Really amazing deep integrated learning and then shifts that lead towards personal growth. That are all very profound for me. And I would highly recommend this program to anyone who is interested. in learning yoga therapy.

How has this program prepared you for your future role in the field of yoga and yoga therapy?

So much about this. The 800 our program has prepared me for yoga therapy and part of that I think is the extra facilitators that Sarahjoy invites in and so you know, gaining in-depth knowledge to use within my own scope of practice around yoga and and cancer or the endocrine system and hormones and menopause or how to support someone who is moving in and around addiction and and really honestly there's so much more, yoga for diabetes and I think that the in-depth learning from those people that have come on board to help facilitate the training has really helped me in so many ways to better understand these topics but also to better understand how to support in ways that I didn't know before. Also I think that the way that this program again is designed which to me is the part of it through zoom and longer weekend trainings together live in person that and coupled with mentorship that is offered twice a week, it really helps the content to be integrated. And it also it helps to practice. To practice the skill set and to learn you know how to try on the skills and also the different ways of asking the Svadhyaya questions and I think that those things along with the personal growth that happens throughout the program that gives you know really big insight into self-knowledge and self-discovery and then all of that leads to confidence and inner confidence that will shine through in a yoga therapy session.
