Claudine Sharko

Recovery Support Specialist, Recovery Centers of America

What was it like working with our Nucleus recruiter during the interview process?

Claudine Sharko: My name is Claudine Sharko and I'm a Recovery Support Specialist with Recovery Centers of America in St. Charles, IL. I've been in this position for about six months and now looking back to where it all began when I first submitted my application in June of 2022, I was immediately contacted by the Nucleus Healthcare recruiter, Miss Cathy Daniel. She walked me through, step-by-step, every step of the process, when we know when applying and interviewing for positions, it can be extremely stressful. But she made sure I had exactly what I needed and made sure I was comfortable in the entire interviewing process, which then prepared me for orientation, onboarding and now where I am on the campus, assuming my role as a Recovery Support Specialist with patients at Recovery Centers of America and also assuming new responsibilities at our St. Charles, IL campus.

How did the Nucleus interview process compare to other interview processes you’ve experienced?

Claudine Sharko: Coming into a new position, in a new career for me, it was a little bit intimidating. I've never worked with a recruiter before. My previous position was a teacher into which I was in that position for almost 20 years. So, it had been quite some time since I had interviewed. But working with Nucleus Healthcare and Miss Daniel, it was extremely easy. She walked me through every step of the process, what was needed from the resume or any background information and then who I'd be connecting with in HR over at Recovery Centers of America. So, a process for somebody who's going into a second career or never worked with a new company before can be quite intimidating, frustrating, or stressful. Working with Nucleus Healthcare made the process seamless, less stressful and made me more comfortable to begin my role at Recovery Centers of America.

How did Nucleus set you up for success throughout the hiring process?

Claudine Sharko: Once I had received my [offer] letter to begin my new position at Recovery Centers of America at the St. Charles, IL campus, I was immediately connected by the recruiter with Nucleus Healthcare over to the Human Resources department at Recovery Centers of America. Therefore, the entire process going from the application into the orientation was seamless, I knew exactly what the dates were going to be for starting, when orientation was going to be, and there was constant communication from the recruiter even after I had begun the training. So, the process set me up for success because I wasn't walking into a new position and a second career with a new corporation, not knowing exactly what I was going to need to do or what was expected. Working with the recruiter, the process was streamlined, from beginning to end and [Nucleus] even contacted me two months after employment, three months after employment and even six months after employment to see how things were going, which with recruiters is something you may not hear of, but Nucleus Healthcare wanted to ensure that the position that I was in was doing well and I was successful, and then how I could share that experience with other people

Since you’ve been hired, how has it been working with our Candidate Success Champions?

Claudine Sharko: Since I've been hired, and I began officially in July of 2022, every few months of my experience at Recovery Centers of America, the recruiter was still reaching out, asking how things are going, any experiences or challenges or anything that I could share since the process began, which I find to be really comforting because working in healthcare, especially in these trying times, whether we're dealing with mental health or substance abuse, these are positions that can be very stressful and to still have that support coming from the recruiters from Human Resources and your leadership team, really means a lot to make sure that we are doing the job and doing it well and that we are qualified for the position to keep maintaining that high quality healthcare that our patients deserve.

In one word, describe your experience working with Nucleus Healthcare.

Claudine Sharko: One word to describe my experience with Nucleus Healthcare would be positive.
