Introduce yourself: Who you are? What you do? Your family situation. Eg. 'Married with 2 young children and working full time...'

Ethan Corneille: Hello everyone. My name is Ethan. I'm 20 years old. I currently study property investment and property development at Curtin University in Perth. I live out of home by myself and I'm currently working part time as a bartender. But also I am working a little bit in the real estate industry as well.

What motivated you to contact to InvestLogic? Eg. 'As we grow closer to retirement age, we were becoming concerned our Super wasn't enough'

Ethan Corneille: So what motivated me to contact InvestLogic basically being at uni, learning property investment. I really wanted to get ahead of my peers and get some more industry experience and industry knowledge. And so far being able to do this course has really provided me with that, learning the foundations and the fundamentals, but also being able to build on top of that as well. I was basically concerned mainly with falling behind and not being able to compete in the real estate game, and this is providing me the skills to do so.

What concerns or scepticism did you have about investing in property and using a Buyers Agent?

Ethan Corneille: So my main concerns around investing in property and using a buyer's agent, especially just knowing that the buyer's agent actually has my best interests at heart and not their own. Sometimes I know that some agents do represent the seller more, and they just wanted to get the deal done and get a commission. So that's one of the major concerns of mine in terms of investing in property. What it's all about for me, mitigating risk and knowing that, you know, if I am to buy commercial property, especially that my tenant would be in the property, will be there for a while, um, and not want to move, but will still provide me with a very good income coming in.

What was the outcome that was achieved?

Ethan Corneille: What I have achieved so far within the course itself, of Commercially Minded, is just having a greater understanding of the lingo as well as the types of commercial investments, and also being able to understand the difference between the residential side and the commercial side. I've been able to understand that there's a lot more opportunity in commercial property for uplift. There's also a lot more money involved in terms of your returns on capital, uplift and your net yields compared to residential. Now, that being said, Tyson has been very knowledgeable so far through the course and I've really enjoyed every bit of it.

Your conclusion and recommendation to others who may be thinking about engaging InvestLogic?

Ethan Corneille: I definitely recommend doing Commercially Minded by InvestLogic. Tyson really took the course to a new level. I've come in not knowing much about commercial property, and I'm leaving knowing all the foundations and I'm able to build upon these foundations as well, knowing all the different types of commercial investments as well as what's needed in order to invest, and how to make money within the industry. This is definitely a way that people can build their skills and enter the commercial market and commercial industry and it gives you the skills in order to to have success as well. So I definitely recommend it once again, especially with Tyson, he has been excellent on the course.
