Which certificate program did you choose and why? What did you hope to gain from it?
DaNasia W.: The certificate that I chose was the OSHA 10. I chose that specifically because I'm already in that field. My mom owns an OSHA safety company, and I already have my OSHA 30, so I kinda just wanted to add it to it. I hope to gain more knowledge in the OSHA construction field, and be able to work with the top people in it, and maybe hopefully branch off into a sister company with my mom and my and her husband. And so far, it's been going great. So my next steps would be to get the 510 and hopefully that'll be very soon. Thank you.
Has your certificate inspired interest in a new career or given you the confidence to try something new? If so, how?
DaNasia W.: This definitely gave me confidence to try to expand my education in safety. It's given me confidence to go and try and get my OSHA 510, so. Thank you.
How would you use the skills and insight you gained from this pathway to apply for a job? Has it helped you advance your career at all?
DaNasia W.: It's helped me apply for multiple jobs. For one, you can't really get into any safety jobs without having those certificates. You can get... you can jump ahead and get like the OSHA 30 and OSHA 510, but it looks great to have those on your resume, so. Yes.
What did you like best about the certificate program experience?
DaNasia W.: What I like best about the program is that it was easy, not time consuming. It was fast to get, didn't take like weeks at a time, so that got... that had to be my favorite part. It wasn't too much. It didn't stress you.
What would you say to other learners who are considering enrolling in a certificate program? Any advice or encouragement?
DaNasia W.: The only advice that I will be able to give is to stay focused and execute whatever you got to... you want to do, execute it. Make sure you have a plan in place and stick to the plan because it's definitely easy to get sidetracked.
