Before coming to Elemental Prep, what did you find difficult about LR?
Jen Heck: Before I found Elemental Prep, my biggest problem in logical reasoning was that I was getting questions wrong and I did not understand why. I was reading the stimulus, I was feeling like I understood it and I was still getting questions wrong. So it really wasn't until I found The Loophole book and read the chapters on translating and the CLIR method that I finally realized there was a step-by-step process that would help me read the stimulus correctly and be armed with information going into the answer choices that would help me distinguish which of the answers was correct.
How did you improve?
Jen Heck: I finally began seeing improvement on logical reasoning after I had been doing the translation CLIR drills for a while. When I could put the stimulus into my own words and go into the answer choices with a very clear understanding of what I was looking for, I really started to see improvement in my scores and in my understanding of the logical reasoning section.
How have you progressed?
Jen Heck: I realized how much I was progressing in the logical reasoning section when I was doing a section and the translation CLIR process was just completely second nature to me. I didn't have to think about it. I was answering questions quickly and correctly and also very importantly, feeling like when I hit a really difficult question, I had a process to fall back on and a set of tools to help me figure out what the correct answer was. So for me doing the translation CLIR goals was a total game changer
