Please introduce yourself in a couple of sentences.
Hello, My name is Kristin Linzmeier. I'm an Associate Manager on the software Consulting Team at Dean Dorton. I've been with the company about 3.5 years, primarily focusing on doing implementations of an accounting software called Sage Intacct. I am a CPA. I started my career in public accounting and for the past seven years or so, I've transitioned into the accounting software and consulting space.
What led you to work with accounting software rather than doing traditional accounting work?
As I said before I started my career in public accounting. I was doing auditing and honestly I just didn't love it. I was starting a family as well and the travel was just not going to be cohesive with starting a family and things like that. So I sort of transitioned into the accounting software space, not really knowing what to expect and I ended up loving it. I really just enjoy taking clients from a system that they may have outgrown or that's outdated and moving them on to something more sophisticated like Intacct. It's rewarding to see them being able to utilize their system and run some reports and, you know, be more efficient in their processes during this whole process of getting them implemented and then also supporting them after the fact. It's just fun. It's rewarding and I really enjoy it.
What are your superpowers – something you’re good at that others should know about?
The first thing that came to my mind is that my kids would say my superpower is knowing when they're lying. But I guess if we're talking about a work environment, I would have to say speed and efficiency. I really kind of pride myself on my time management, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
