Ballot Measure 1: Dues Restructure
Cecelia Henderson: Hello everyone. My name is Cecilia. I'm here with the contract action team at APFA to talk to you about Ballot Measure One the Dues Restructure. Ballot Measure One proposes a dues restructure from $41 per month to 1 hour of pay at a 6-year flight attendant pay rate which is currently $53.67. Once that dues for all flight attendants will remain aligned with possible 6-year pay, including any future increases or possible decreases. The proposed measure will prevent any further reductions in services for members due to future increased cost of the representation and the needs of our members. The proposed change to the due structure does not eliminate members' right to vote on future increases. The auto increases are part of the proposed structure to keep up with increased cost, however, the actual structure remains in the hands of the membership. Along with significant financial reform previously implemented by our elected base presidents this ballot measure ensures the APFA will remain financially sound, flexible and able to respond to current and future challenges and opportunities.
