Speaker: Rosana Juestel, MPA, PMP®, DASM®, PMI Columbus, Chapter President
Rosana Juestel, MPA, PMP®, DASM®: I get connected with Ascension Worldwide through PMI. I'm a chapter leader and the president of the local columbus Georgia chapter and PMI Global share an opportunity with us to join a meeting in regards to unconscious bias, and that's how I get connected with Ascension Worldwide.
Rosana Juestel, MPA, PMP®, DASM®: At PMI, we are focusing on being more diverse and equal to everybody, not only in our chapter board, but also in our membership and prospects. When I attended the meeting with Ascension Worldwide in regards to unconscious bias, it gave me awareness not only for this concept because I heard about unconscious bias, but I didn't I never really attended a meeting like this, so it gave me awareness not only about the topic and about How to do things that are inclusive and equal to ours, but it also allows me to see that in myself, it was very practical. So it allowed me to to reflect into myself and see what I could do to improve or to do better to continue doing the things that we're doing.
Rosana Juestel, MPA, PMP®, DASM®: This meeting allowed me to be aware and they provided examples, we made it really simple to retrospect into myself and see what I was doing, that I may need to consider reconsider doing. And it also allowed me, since I'm a minority to think about what can I do to express myself. Sometimes, it's hard for others to see what we are from, or maybe to allow others to see the diversity that I bring if I don't bring it out if I don't talk about it. So one of the main outcomes that I got from from the meeting with Ascension Worldwide was to be myself, don't be afraid to be myself, to express myself, and to also allow others to express themselves.
