Why did you purchase Alaxo Airway Stents?
DEVIN HAMDEN: I ended up having to start CPAP therapy to help alleviate hematocrit levels, which were rising because I'm on HRT therapy for about the past six years. Which was all well and good. I mean they have a full face mask and they're just not something that that I could deal with. I used to be a mouth breather. I had a Septoplasty about 20 years ago and on and off had been clawing at having decent sleep, using Afrin, Flonase, nasal chrome, you name it, it's been a mad house. But I need to start the CPAP. The first week into it I found that there was no way I was going to be able to continue that and have an effective therapy because I could not breathe through my nose. I would maybe make it the first three hours and then I would have my congestion. My nasal passages would just swell. I've been on allergy shots, I've taken about everything that you can. Anti histamines. Anything that you can think of, I've done. Its just having my nose broken when I was 13 years old. and it's just I've had these issues, I had always been a mouth breather for the most part and just it was horrible. It's just horrible. Ask my wife with her earplugs. But when starting the therapy, I mean I just realized and I had thought about even before starting the therapy. I had done research on the computer about possibly sticking surgical tubing in my nose and that was a pretty drastic thing. I had thought about taking a piece of leather cutting holes in it and putting putting the tubes in it was in my head, but I never really went through with it until it became a necessity while starting the CPAP. I needed to be able to breathe through my nose. There are other benefits as far as breathing through your nose that I wasn't aware of. But I got on the computer and I started searching because in order for the CPAP therapy to be effective, like I said, I could not have anything on my, I just couldn't do it over top of my mouth. I needed to find a way to be able to breathe through my nose. So I'm sitting there thinking about getting something homemade. and I just, the word stent came into mind and that they had heart stents to know that they, you know, there are different things that they used to to expand arteries to expand things like that. And one thing led to another and I came across Alaxo Stents!
How have Alaxo Airway Stents helped you?
DEVIN HAMDEN: So after receiving the Stents (Airway), they had the recommendation to use them a little bit at a time to get used to them. And when you are starving to have sleep, starving, craving to have to be able to breathe through your nose, I went full bore. I went straight into it. I inserted in the first night and was gonna power through it. There's an adjustment period then they'll tell you all about that. But in short, I've been using them for three weeks. Three short weeks. I had been on Losartan, the lowest dose of it for my blood pressure. And within a week everything that I had dropped. My glucose - I'm diabetic, my glucose levels have dropped 10%. My blood pressure has dropped to a point where I can't take the Losartan. So in the morning upon awaking of about 100/63. Midday 110/65. Nighttime, continuously I'm about 115, 118 over about 70 or 72 115/72 These are immediate effects. I don't know how it would affect other people, but these are something that I've noticed almost immediately. There's nothing better than to lay in bed. CPAP or not, You get used to it and you just, I'm happy with the air but to be able to breathe through your nose and get through a night and have a decent night's sleep.
Would you recommend Alaxo Airway Stents to others?
DEVIN HAMDEN: I would recommend Alaxo Airway stents, absolutely. That's a game changer. It is something that, that if you've ever had the problem or the issue of breathing through your nose, it absolutely will change your life. I don't know another, I don't know how to explain it. If you, if you've ever suffered through trying to breathe through your nose at night or having a night's sleep and being a mouth breather, to have something physically keep your passages open, your nasal passages open and allow you to be able to do this is it's phenomenal. Again, it's such a simple thing. People take it for granted all the time. I didn't know what I was missing and I think people who breathe through their noses probably don't have any idea of what it would be like to not be able to. Absolutely. The research that they put into this is is it's obvious. The construction of the device itself, what it's made from, the different sizes, the different models that they have. I can't see any reason not to.
How would you describe your experience with Alaxo Airway Stents and the Airway Care Team?
DEVIN HAMDEN: So my experience with the Airway Stents in general. I mean they come packaged professionally, It is everything that I would expect it to be. They are the construction, the engineering, everything went into. It is, I would say perfect. I mean it does exactly what it needs to do. I was in need and they were able to deliver. I can't say enough about it. My experience with The Airway Care Team, Dawn Evans was my contact was my initial contact and I cannot tell you how, I'm almost at a loss for words. If she is, I own and operate my own business. My wife opens and operates her own business and to have somebody treat me the way that I treat my customers is paramount, surprising. I Just don't expect never expected to have somebody treat me the same way From day one between the emails, phone calls, constant support. She is available to me when I need her. I have spoken to her about many different things and sometimes I will talk you into the floor ask them, I can I can carry on a conversation for for forever and she is without the doubt an absolute asset to Alaxo. I'm sure she has a full support staff that is assisting her and allowing her to do her job. I just, I just, I couldn't, I couldn't have probably made the leap without speaking to her before I ever ordered them.
