At face value, it would seem that our session would be best suited for medical students and for faculty in the residency program. However, I think it's useful for all orthopaedic surgeons because oftentimes as leaders in the community, we have family, friends asking us how to get into orthopaedics, the profession that we all love.

I'm really hoping this will make your lives easier in the future when these patients come through the door. And almost all of us in many different aspects of orthopaedics are going to see this.

Our symposium is for all learners. It's for residents and fellows interested in hip and knee arthroplasty. It's for those that are early in their career executing revision and total hip arthroplasties. And it's for the expert revision total hip arthroplasty surgeon as well.

As orthopaedic surgeons, we are all leaders in the operating room and clinic settings. Unfortunately, formal leadership training is not built into our medical education and orthopaedic surgery training... I think the fact that we have Spanish sessions is going to be a plus and it's going to cater to a large community of orthopaedic surgeons that participate from Latin America and Spanish speaking countries.

We're going to talk about diagnosis and treatment of patients with periprosthetic joint infection, and we're also going to talk about prevention. These will all be pragmatic tips that you can take back to your practice literally the week after the Academy.

There are many myths and fears surrounding being pregnant as an orthopaedic surgeon. Our goal is to provide evidence-based advice to provide clarity.
