I've really been able to build a strong professional network and that's been very useful for me. When I have questions, concerns, or I just want to reach out and talk to somebody, my colleagues that I've met through APTR are among the first that I reach out to.
I've been going to Teaching Prevention conferences since 2013 and it's consistently my favorite conference of the year. I meet new people that are outside my specialty who are doing very interesting work that I've often taken back to my institution and adapted.
The annual meeting is an opportunity to look to the future and identify areas of need and gaps in our research and teaching and to work collaboratively to address those needs to better serve our communities.
