My son is level three autistic and does require a lot of medical supplies... it's really come in handy knowing that I have insurance available to meet all his needs
I'm not ashamed that I have a medical card because if I was able to work, I would work, and have insurance of my own. But being on disability, I'm entitled to what I have and I'm gonna use what I have.
A lot of us don't understand what's [covered] under it [Medicaid]. We don't understand the development, we don't understand the customization of it, and sometimes... we just get lost in the shuffle.
I used to have to travel over an hour to see her at a different facility because the only way I could get the low cost free was to do that. Now that I have Medicaid, I can see her five minutes from where I work and it's less expensive and much more convenient.
I love everything about West Virginia Medicaid and the CHIP program... [It] has allowed my family to get regular checkups, dental cleanings, stay up to date on vaccines and see a doctor when sick.
If this is cut, what are we supposed to do in rural communities, small communities like we have them in our area? This would be a bad impact on the hospitals. They would have to close their doors. Because people wouldn't be able to get their their uh essential life saving support that they need.
